How to Install Bahama Shutters
Bahama shutters hang from a top hinge and are propped open by an adjustable arm running down to a camel bracket. The angle the panel sits at is set by where you put that bracket, so test the fit before you fix it.

Installation
Standard Bahama hinge (.068 extruded aluminum), adjustable arms and support brackets.
What you’ll need
- Electric drill
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Fasteners approved for your wall type
- For block or concrete: 1/4" x 1-3/4" Tapcons
- Install the top hinge to the wall over the opening, using fasteners approved for the particular application. Center it over the opening and make it level.
- Attach the shutter panel — the male hinge insert on the top of the panel goes into the female opening in the Bahama top hinge already mounted to the wall.
- Install the Bahama arm: the top of the sliding arm fixes into the threaded insert on the side of the panel with a 1/4 x 20 Phillips screw.

Install the camel bracket into the wall, roughly 1/4" away from the side of the panel, at the height you prefer.
- Typically it goes level with the bottom of the panel or near it.
- The higher the camel bracket, the further out the panel will pitch.
- Test the fit with the arm before fixing the bracket.
- Connect the lower section of the sliding arm into the camel bracket using the L-shaped pin.
- Tighten the adjustment screw on the collar of the sliding arm to lock in the angle of projection.
Keep your warranty valid
For the warranty to stay in force, the shutter must be mounted using the hole positions shown in the diagram, and every fastener must go into the wall.
Installing on block or concrete
Secure the top hinge with 1/4" x 1-3/4" Tapcons at 12" on center. Each camel bracket needs two Tapcons, so allow four in total.
